About us

It’s our mission to provide everyone with excellent service and sales growth opportunities, and we are proud to be home to a number of client publishers who sit alongside the Hachette Aotearoa New Zealand and Australia publishers in our facility at Tuggerah, where everyone receives the same market-leading service levels.

Meet our publishers

Our services

We operate over 20,000 square metres of warehousing in Tuggerah, New South Wales, Australia. Subject to the publisher’s profile, we offer a wide range of storage options from bulk storage to carton and item level storage. Our picking process is completed through a zone routed conveyor and we also offer full carton and pallet picking.

About Us

Our picking area consists of on average 51,000 picking locations, capable of storing varied profiles of stock. Picking is conducted with RF scanners and quality of picking is supported by detailed weighing process.

Our bulk storage areas benefit from multiple different formats of storage, from a state-of-the-art VNA (very narrow aisle) racking system, to standard warehouse racking and block stacking storage.

ADS operates a large fleet of machinery; turret trucks, forklifts, high reach trucks, high level order pickers and electric pallet jacks, all of which are designed to support efficient operations.

Leading edge delivery

We offer our publishers world-class distribution services. Each year, we distribute over 80,000 different products and ship over 19 million books to every type of customer: retailers, online stores, wholesalers, institutions, individual authors, web consumers and many more.

This is all made possible by the dedicated and enthusiastic team who work tirelessly to achieve great outcomes.

We pride ourselves on our excellent customer service levels but we are constantly striving to do more in order to achieve continual improvement.

Across our warehouse we have approximately 120 employees.

We operate across five warehouses in Tuggerah, consisting of 20,000 square meters of space.

Titles stored:

The number of titles stored at ADS can vary, but we usually have 65,000 stored at any given time.

Units stored:

Subject to the time of year this can go up and down – we currently have 10 million units stored.

Forward picking locations:

Across our automated and manual picking locations, we have 51,000 picking locations, but this does change.

Bulk picking locations:

Across ADS we have up to 16,900 bulk picking locations, but this can vary.

Units dispatched each year:

In 2025 we dispatched 16.7M units.

Value added services

Our specialist value added services team can take on any additional activities including stickering, pack make-up, shrink wrapping, catalogue and mailing services.

Customer services

Alliance Distribution Services have an experienced and dedicated customer service department. Our teams are on hand to process orders, answer calls, deal with customer queries, claims, complaints and to set up new accounts – all our services are monitored and tracked within our SLAs.

Credit services

We have a dedicated credit service team. Our credit team assess customer risk, advise and update on credit limits, review blocked orders, chase debt, advise on allocations, reconcile accounts, take payments and journal back to publishers.

One-time customers

We accept orders from customers who may only want to place a one-off order and not have a trade account set up; instead we will process the order by a credit card payment. Please contact our customer service department for more information.

Returns

Occasionally our customers may need to return stock. We are able to arrange this in a number of ways, please contact our customer services team at adscs@alliancedist.com.au who will be able to advise you of an authorisation number to include when sending the stock items back to:
